No. Classes and A1C tests are all completely free. You do not need a referral from your doctor to participate.
Yes! Classes and screenings are open to the community.
An A1C test measures average blood glucose over the past two to three months. It can identify prediabetes or be used to diagnose diabetes. An A1C test can also monitor how well you are meeting your treatment goals.
Diabetes education can be helpful when:
- You have recently been diagnosed with prediabetes or diabetes.
- You’re having trouble managing prediabetes or diabetes.
- Your medicine has changed, or you have a new treatment plan.
