Tips for a Healthy 2021

A lot changed in 2020, including health care. The need to stay home led to new resources and benefits—like virtual fitness classes, pharmacy delivery, and virtual doctor’s appointments. What hasn’t change is our continued goal to help you stay healthy and get access to the care you need. Follow these tips to make the most of your health benefits and make 2021 your healthiest year yet.

Not feeling well? Talk to a doctor on the phone or online.

Don’t neglect your health this year. If you aren’t feeling well or have medical concerns, you should speak to your doctor. Many of EmblemHealth’s benefit plans include Teladoc®, a service that allows users to talk with a doctor 24 hours a day, seven days a week online or at 800-835-2362. Members whose plans include Teladoc® may not have to pay regular cost-sharing (including copays, coinsurance, or deductibles).

If your EmblemHealth plan doesn’t include Teladoc®, your virtual telehealth visit may still be covered by your plan, but you may have to pay your regular cost-sharing. If you’re not sure of your plan benefits for virtual visits, call the number on your member ID card, and a customer service representative will be happy to help.

Looking for virtual fitness classes?

EmblemHealth’s Neighborhood Care Centers, located throughout New York City, had to pause in-person health and wellness classes when COVID-19 hit. Luckily, our instructors have created live (free!) virtual classes for members and non-members to enjoy at home. We not only offer movement classes (like the always-popular chair yoga), we also host meditation, healthy eating, and diabetes management classes. Check out our upcoming events here.

Need your prescriptions delivered?

In 2020 we partnered with Medly Pharmacy to provide in-home delivery, in some cases on the same day, in New York City, Long Island, and New Jersey. They offer service in a half-dozen languages, including Spanish, Cantonese, Mandarin, and Russian. To connect with a Medly Pharmacy agent, call or text Medly at 800-595-0643 or visit their website.

CVS and Walgreens are also providing free home delivery of prescriptions covered by EmblemHealth. Visit our Coronavirus FAQs page to learn more about using these services.
