No. Classes, A1C tests, and diabetes eye screenings are all completely free. You do not need a referral from your doctor to participate.
Yes! Classes and screenings are open to the community.
An A1C test measures average blood glucose over the past two to three months. It can identify prediabetes or be used to diagnose diabetes. An A1C test can also monitor how well you are meeting your treatment goals.
A diabetes eye screening is a simple, pain-free way to identify diabetes-related eye problems. A picture will be taken of your eye, which will be used to detect any issues that may impact your vision.
Diabetes education can be helpful when:
- You have recently been diagnosed with prediabetes or diabetes.
- You’re having trouble managing prediabetes or diabetes.
- Your medicine has changed, or you have a new treatment plan.
