NEW YORK, NY - EmblemHealth, one of the nation's largest nonprofit health insurers, engaged in a diverse range of events across New York's five boroughs in November. These events, which catered to different cultures, were designed to raise awareness about health care, particularly in the context of the holiday season. They focused on healthy eating and involved partnerships with various community organizations.

"With the holidays here, it's essential for everyone to prioritize their health," said Ann Marie Adamson-Serieux, Assistant Vice President of Community Engagement. "At EmblemHealth, we are committed to making it easy to care for yourself and your family."

EmblemHealth's Community Engagement team, in collaboration with elected officials and a wide range of community partners, including State Senators Luis Sepulveda and Zellnor Myrie, Assembly Members Manny De Lo Santos and Monique Chandler-Waterman, the Campaign Against Hunger, the Mexican Consulate, and other organizations, worked tirelessly to make these events a success.

EmblemHealth Neighborhood Care, in its mission to cater to diverse community needs, featured a range of engaging events at multiple brick and mortar locations. These included a holiday food giveaway at Cambria Heights, a celebration marking the first anniversary of the Serenity and Soul Well-Being grant program at Crown Heights, and the continued promotion of the Community Diabetes Wellness Program at Fordham Road. This variety of events is designed to keep our community members excited and engaged in their health and well-being.

More events are being held in December including a coat drive and toy and food giveaways. For a complete list and more information, visit emblemhealth.com/events, email neighborhood@emblemhealth.com, or call 800-274-2950 (TTY: 711) to learn about events EmblemHealth will participate in or host.
