Lorraine Cortés-Vázquez Named Senior Vice President, Corporate Relations and Government Affairs
Robin Chappelle Golston Named Vice President, Community and Government Affairs
New York, NY (September 21, 2015) — EmblemHealth today announced the addition of two senior officials to lead the company's Corporate Relations and Government/ Community Affairs team — the first senior personnel announcements since Karen Ignagni became President and CEO on September 1, 2015.
Effective immediately, Lorraine Cortés-Vázquez joins the company's leadership team as Senior Vice President, Corporate Relations and Government Affairs, reporting directly to Ms. Ignagni. In her new role, Lorraine will be responsible for managing and extending EmblemHealth's deep relationships with local community and government leaders across the region. Reporting to Ms. Cortés-Vázquez, Robin Chappelle Golston joins the company as Vice President for Community and Government Affairs, where she will work to promote EmblemHealth's mission of caring among key external audiences.

Ms. Cortés-Vázquez joins EmblemHealth from AARP where she spent three years as Executive Vice President for Multicultural Markets & Engagement, leading efforts to increase the organization's membership among the Hispanic/Latino, African-American and Asian communities. Prior to her tenure at AARP, she served as Secretary of State of New York. Ms. Cortés-Vázquez also served as President of the Hispanic Federation, Executive Director of ASPIRA of New York, and held leadership positions at the New York City Department for the Aging.
Ms. Cortés-Vázquez is a graduate of Hunter College and earned a master's degree from New York University's Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service, and has earned graduate certificates from Harvard University's John F. Kennedy School of Government and from Columbia University's School of Non-Profit Management.
Ms. Chappelle Golston joins EmblemHealth from JPMorgan Chase where she served for the past four years as Vice President for State Government Affairs. In this role, Ms. Chappelle Golston was responsible for developing and implementing the bank's political engagement strategy with elected officials in New York, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Maine. Prior to working at JPMorgan Chase, Ms. Chappelle Golston worked as political director to a number of federal, state and local campaigns across New York; as well as in constituent services capacities at the federal level. She is a graduate of Hampton University.
