New York, NY – EmblemHealth, one of the nation’s largest nonprofit health insurers, kept with the spirit of staying healthy for the holidays by promoting healthy behaviors and spreading cheer through several community engagement events across the New York metropolitan area in partnership with City and State leaders and community stakeholders.

“The end of the year is a great time for family, friends, and reflection. We use this time to remember the past year and set the course for the year to come,” said Beth Leonard, EmblemHealth’s Chief Corporate Affairs Officer. “It is in the same spirit we reflect on our commitment to the health of the communities we serve, with the support of our government leaders, and look ahead to how we will build upon our mission to create healthier futures in 2023.”

New Yorkers of all ages received holiday essentials, including fresh food, a variety of wellness and dental screenings, member services, and toys from Santa’s Toy Shop. Through our enterprise-wide Be Human initiative, employees participated in community engagement projects, donating over 5,000 toys to the Toys for Tots chapters in both New York and Connecticut during the holiday season. EmblemHealth Neighborhood Care (EHNC) staff, employee donations, and the time and efforts of generous volunteers across the enterprise helped to provide a total of 6,200 toys to 30 community events across the New York metropolitan area.
