While you review your portal users, also consider those who could benefit from having an account or expanded permissions to perform their jobs. Here is an important update that may affect your assignment decisions:
New! Modify A Preauthorization Request or Emergent Inpatient Admission Notification
Our provider portals have a new feature that allows users to modify a preauthorization request or an emergent inpatient admission notification. If a request or notification can be modified, a Modify Request button will show on the Preauthorization Details page. Clicking the button will take you to a screen that is similar to the Review Request step in the initial request or notification submission where edits may be entered and submitted.
This can be helpful when a service date is changing, when a member is admitted for a preauthorized stay, or when a member is being discharged.
Note: Home care agencies may ask for more time to use approved visits. However, additional visits and/or additional services require a new preauthorization request.
