Essential Plan, Medicaid, Child Health Plus, and HARP members must renew coverage every year. Your renewal date depends on when your current coverage period ends.

You will receive a renewal notice by mail or email when it’s time to renew coverage for yourself or your child. The notice will be sent to you 45-90 days before your renewal date. You will also receive updates and reminders about renewing your plan in the EmblemHealth member portal so be sure to register.

View a sample timeline in our helpful renewal checklist. In the meantime, please make sure your address, phone number, and other contact information are up to date with EmblemHealth and NY State of Health to ensure you receive your notice on time.

If you don’t renew on time, you will lose your EmblemHealth insurance and may experience a gap in coverage.* It’s important to renew by the deadline, so call us today. We’re here to assist you every step of the way.

*Medicaid and Child Health Plus members have continuous coverage from ages 0-6. Some exceptions may apply.

You’ll need to review and update the information you provided in your last application to make sure everything is correct. This may include information about your income, family size, and current health coverage. You may also be asked to provide some documentation. Please see our renewal checklist for more information.

If you enrolled through NY State of Health, you can complete your renewal online by signing in to your account at nystateofhealth.ny.gov. You can also renew by phone through NY State of Health’s Customer Service Center at 855-355-5777 (TTY: 800-662-1220).
