EmblemHealth is committed to providing affordable, quality health coverage in ways that respect and respond to people's fundamental needs. We pursue our mission by providing a choice of products and networks so members have access to the medical care they need at prices they can afford. We do this by improving the health of members through wellness programs that foster prevention and healthier living and by using technology to ease access to information and services.

To ensure we live up to our mission and achieve our goals, we embrace values that guide our behavior and provide a framework for our actions.

In 2006, HIP Health Plan of New York and GHI (Group Health Incorporated) affiliated as EmblemHealth companies. With more than 5,000 employees, HIP and GHI serve nearly 3.3 million people with access to over 106,000 providers across the tristate region. Other EmblemHealth companies include HIP Insurance Company of New York, ConnectiCare of New York, Inc. and EmblemHealth Services Company LLC.

In April 2007, we submitted a plan to combine the two not-for-profit health benefits providers into a single for-profit, publicly traded company.
